
Govt Using "State Resources" To Recover Helicopter And Crew From
Afghanistan: PM

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Augst,2016) : Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday said the Federal Government was in constant touch with the relevant authorities in Afghanistan for the safe return of the crew and the Mi-17 helicopter, owned by the Punjab government. "The state's resources are fully [being] utilised to rescue the personnel who were onboard the helicopter," a statement from the PM House said. "Formal and informal channels are being used to ensure safe recovery of the entire crew," the Prime Minister said.
"We are profoundly concerned about the safety of the whole team that was travelling on the helicopter.
We have formally requested the Government of Afghanistan to help in their safe recovery, at the earliest possible," the statement quoted the Prime Minister as saying. While sharing the pain and agony of the families of the crew members, the Prime Minister assured that all-out efforts were being made by the Federal Government and its agencies to guarantee the safe return of each member of the helicopter crew.
