ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2019 ) :The government and people of Pakistan highly value timely contribution of brotherly country Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate miseries of earthquake affected people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

This was stated by Acting Deputy Chairman Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) Brig Muhammad Latif while inaugurating Rawalakot District Complex which was successfully completed by ERRA and Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), said a press release issued on Monday.

A high level delegation from SFD, ERRA, officials from Economic Affair Division and government of AJK were present at the inauguration ceremony the complex. Welcoming the guests from brotherly country of Saudi Arabia, Brig Muhammad Latif thanked them for timely intervention and supporting the people of Pakistan in time of need. Paying tribute to late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Brig Latif said that people and government of Pakistan are indebted to unconditional support for reconstruction and rehabilitation of earthquake affected areas.

He said that it was professional commitment and dedication of Adviser Engineer Abdullah M. Al-Shoaibi, Yasir Al Bakri Project Manager Engineer SFD, and Faisal Al Yahya engineer operation department SFD that led to successful completion of the project.

Saudi Arabia has been an active partner of ERRA in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in earthquake affected areas after the devastating earthquake of 8 October 2005.� SFD provided a grant of US�$160�million for construction of educational and health facilities in AJK and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while at present out of six mega projects, five mega projects have been successfully completed in governance and education sector in AJK.

It is worth mentioning that King Abdullah University, Chattar Class Muzafarabad is under construction expected to be completed in June 2019, said Brig Latif.�Appreciating the role of government of AJK ERRA team, Brig Latif said that inauguration of District Government Complex Rawalakot is a great success and will ensure improved service delivery and better governance in the area.

Brig Latif thanked the guests including the Deputy Head of Mission Habeeb Ullah Al Bokhari, SFD Mission, Dr. Syed Asif ACD Development AJK, Owais Nauman Kindi Sr. Joint Secretary EAD and ERRA officials present at the occasion for their support.
