Growing Population Graph To Have Negative Impact On Environment, Climate Change: Dr Muhammad Ashraf

Chairman Pakistan Council for Research on Water Reservoirs (PCRWR), Dr Muhammad Ashraf on Thursday said that growing population graph had negative impact on environment and climate change.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2018 ) :Chairman Pakistan Council for Research on Water Reservoirs (PCRWR), Dr Muhammad Ashraf on Thursday said that growing population graph had negative impact on environment and climate change.
Expressing views in a ptv programe, he said Water Day being observed in all parts of the country with theme of 'Nature for Water' and 'Protection of Nature' would help in producing more water.
He said PCRWR was established to conduct research on water.
He added that the institution was evolving policies for water conservation. Melting of glaciers during summer season was helping to produce water for agriculture and other purpose. Commenting on significant value of reservoirs, Dr Asharaf said dams could play pivotal role for storage of water during rainy season and floods.
The reservoirs could also be utilized for enhancing agriculture products besides hydro-power projects, he said.
