ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :Hajj expenditures are likely to register significant increase next year (Hajj 2019) due to various reasons including surge in overall prices and fluctuations in Dollar rupee parity ratio.
According to official sources, this year Government Scheme Hajj expenses are likely to increase by over Rs55,000. During Hajj 2018, the Hajj package was Rs270,000 for Government Hajj Scheme. Next year the Hajj package is likely to remain between Rs340,000 to Rs350,000.
He said Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri had already asked Saudi authorities to increase Pakistan's Hajj quota from 20,000 to 30,000.
He said Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was being asked to offer special relief package to Pakistanis.
He said the Government was contemplating to restore categories in government scheme. This year government Hajj scheme package would be between Rs340,000 to Rs350,000.
Various options were under consideration to get nearby residences, transport and food facilities. Other options are under consideration to make government Hajj scheme foolproof, the official source said.
