Health Department Advises People To Adopt Safety Measures

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th August, 2016) : District Health Department has urged the people to ensure proper oral, internal and external hygiene to prevent various diseases.
Deputy district health officer Dr Amir Sheikh Tuesday urged the residents to be careful during monsoon season, as the body's immunity is susceptible to many diseases, which are commonly associated with this season.
He said diseases associated with monsoon are malaria, jaundice, gastro intestinal infections like typhoid and cholera.
He said that poodles of stagnant waterdue to rain are breeding ground for mosquitoes, which spread diseases like malaria and dengue fever.
He advised the use of mosquito net or repellants like mats and coils. He also cautioned the people to avoid walking in dirty water during the rainy season. This may lead to numerous fungal infections, which affect toes and nails. He advised diabetic patients to take special care of their feet and keep them dry and clean.
