Heart of Pakistani nation beats with Kashmiri people: ED LOk Virsa

Executive Director, National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa), Shaheera Shahid on Saturday said Kashmir was "an integral part of Pakistan's identity" saying "our hearts beat in sync with Kashmiri brethren and we rejoice in their happiness and gloom".

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Nov, 2018 ) :Executive Director, National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa), Shaheera Shahid on Saturday said Kashmir was "an integral part of Pakistan's identity" saying "our hearts beat in sync with Kashmiri brethren and we rejoice in their happiness and gloom".

The Kashmir is not an issue for Kashmiri people and it is also related to the foundation and formation of Pakistan," she said while talking to ptv news.

While expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir she said, every Pakistani was concerned with Kashmir issue and the sufferings of the people of Kashmir.

Pakistan would make sure to highlight the Kashmir issue at every international forum and mentioned that Lok Virsa with an aim to create awareness among the younger generation about the Kashmiri culture making all possible efforts by arranging programmes and displaying the culture of Kashmiri people, she added.

She urged the youth to make their lives constructive and meaningful and use social media to highlight more effectively the brutalities and savagery of Indian forces against Kashmiris in IHK.

These efforts had not only facilitated Lok Virsa to play its meaningful role as a national cultural organization but also served significantly to promote, protect and project the rich culture of Kashmir at national and international level in an effective manner, she added.

She also emphasized on making Youth learn and experience various cultural facets of our State, various languages, arts, traditions and imbibing in them a deep cultural awareness besides love and respect for their heritage.

The Executive Director said, Lok Virsa in highlighting the Kashmir cause through a cultural perspective remained hub of Kashmiri cultural to entertained hundreds of visitors including families, children, and youth by giving awareness.

She said Lok Virsa provides was a vital platform for a wide variety of cultural organizations and ethnic communities for organizing themselves, with a space for artists and artisans, to become a part of Lok Virsa's larger family.

The last ten days of Lok virsa week also provided a detailed overview of the Kashmir cause not only to the people at home but also abroad as a number of tv channels were there to cover the event, she said.

The ED said the culture remained only alive when you strengthen the roots of art, culture and heritage.

"I feel that there is a need to take more steps in this direction. If we have to save our culture, we will have to focus on that," she added.

"We are working towards promotion of Kashmiri culture and for this we need support from civil society. Our motto is to made students aware about the Kashmiri culture and its history so we organize more programme here", she highlighted.
