HR women, child protection centers progress reviewed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : New Secretary Incharge Ministry of Human Rights, Rabiya Javeri Agha reviewed working and progress of the women and child protection centers here on Friday.

Ministry official briefed the new Secretary the on activities and functions of the Ministry of Human Rights and various aspects and progress on the National Plan of Action on Human Rights. Besides Joint Secretary Humaira Azam, Director General (HR) Mohammad Arshad, other officials of the Ministry also attended the meeting, an official of Ministry of HR told APP.

The Secretary Incharge directed the staff to engage in a more effective collaboration with the provincial stakeholders for outreach and implementation of the plan.

She stressed the need for timely submission of mandatory reports, particularly, the report on Convention on Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and Universal Periodic Report.

She further directed to strengthen the capacity and linkages with the concerned stakeholders. Rabiya Javeri Agha asked the concerned wings to submit suggestion for further improving the services and building systems in this regard.
