ICCBS Inks MoU With INJAZ Of Aman Foundation

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31th August, 2016) : The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with INJAZ Pakistan, an initiative of the Aman Foundation. According to the agreement, INJAZ Pakistan will be facilitating and conducting training sessions at ICCBS, the ICCBS spokesman said, adding that some of its training programs include entrepreneurial master class workshops, innovation camp workshops, company program and business startup programme.
He said that the services of INJAZ will largely be used in the ICCBS Technology Incubator and Industrial Park (TIIP), which is going to be launched soon at the ICCBS, University of Karachi at a cost of Rs 188 million.
The technology park aims to bridge the gap between industry and universities, and to fuel up the process of organized development work, he added. The MoU was signed in a meeting held at the Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drugs Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.

Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and Chief Executive Officer INJAZ Pakistan Uzma Khan signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions. On the occasion, Manager Academics INJAZ Atif Iqbal, Program Facilitator INJAZ Madiha, Dr Hina Siddiqui and Syed Azfer Hussain of ICCBS were also present. Prof.
Dr M. Iqbal Choudhary said that ICCBS is the first institute in Pakistan to be recognized as United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Centre for Excellence (UNESCO) Category-2 Institute. He also stressed the need of training of scholars in economically relevant fields of chemical and biochemical sciences, and resources mobilization for the future growth.
On this occasion Uzma Khan said that this is going to be a milestone and one of its kind collaborations for Injaz. We are excited and proud to see such excellence being delivered in our country, she said. She said that INJAZ is an initiative of the Aman Foundation which works to bridge the gap between the educational field and the market place through co-curricular programs that empower the youth.
