IGP For Foolproof Security Arrangements On 9th, 10th Muharram

Inspector General Punjab Muhammad Tahir has directed Sargodha regional police officers for adopting tight and foolproof security arrangements on 9th and 10th Muharram.

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2018 ) :Inspector General Punjab Muhammad Tahir has directed Sargodha regional police officers for adopting tight and foolproof security arrangements on 9th and 10th Muharram.

According to a handout, he was addressing a meeting held here on Thursday. RPO Sargodha Sultan Ahmad Choudhary, DPOs and SSP of special branches of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakhar districts were present.

Punjab IGP Muhammad Tahir said police officials and officers would remain on high alert to ensure peaceful environment throughout the province on Ashura in order to prevent any untoward activity by extremists and terrorists.

He ordered the police officers for strict screening and checking of the routes of central processions on 9th and 10th Muharram.

He further directed to utilize all the available resources for providing security to all the processions and Majalis.

Earlier RPO Sargodha briefed the IGP about the security plan of Muharram.

The IGP directed the police officers of the region to ensure 4-layer security, according to the defined SOPs, for the sensitive processions and Majalis. He further directed for deployingplainclothes commandos for the security of Majalis and processions.
