IGP Sindh For Beefing Up Security During Polio Drive In City

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th july, 2016) : The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, on Saturday called for beefing up security during the anti-polio drive in the metropolis commencing from July 25. A spokesman of the Sindh Police said that the IGP issued directive that foolproof security measures be undertaken for the occasion.
He said that the IGP further instructed that the union councils be divided in to categories for the security purposes. It was further directed that commandos be deployed for the staff performing duty for administering polio drops during the campaign. The IGP also called for enhanced police patrolling, snap checking and strengthening the advance intelligence collection system. He further directed that the District SSPs should supervise the security steps during the campaign period.
