IHC Directs Police To Book Responsible Who Injured CDA Officials

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Islamabad police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against responsible persons who injured CDA officials while taking operation against encroachers

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2017 ) :Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Islamabad police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against responsible persons who injured CDA officials while taking operation against encroachers.

Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui passed the directions while hearing a plea moved by Islamabad Transport Owners and Passengers Welfare Association pointing out illegal bus stands, parkings in the green belt area of Islamabad.

During the course of proceedings, CDA Director Enforcement, Taj Ahmed Warsi appeared before the bench on wheelchair and informed the bench that during operation against encroachments outside the Centaurus Mall, the management of the mall pelted stones on us.

He apprised that many of the CDA officials got injured but police remained silent and despite our request police did not arrested the culprits, he alleged.

The bench remarked that while executing court orders, the authorities had to take hard steps without giving any favor to influentials to remove encroachments in the capital territory.

Meanwhile, Akram Sheikh counsel for the centaurus mall appeared before the bench and said CDA took action against my client without serving any prior notice. Justice Shoukat directed him to submit written complaint against responsible and adjourned further hearing till November 20.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier court directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remove illegal encroachments in form of illegal bus stops and others from the green belts and footpaths of the capital. The IHC bench further directed the officials of CDA to launch a comprehensive drive for removal of encroachments without any favor to anyone.
