IHC Seeks Comments On Plea Against Non-release Of Bushra Bibi

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Aug, 2024) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday served notices to respondents in a petition against non-releasing of Bushra Bibi after her acquittal in ‘Iddat’ case.
The petitioner has named Home Ministry Punjab, IG Jails, Interior Ministry and others.
The petition has prayed the court to stop the arrest of Bushra Bibi in any new case and she should be given opportunity to appear before the relevant court.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the case along with the objections of registrar office. The office has objected that how a petition could be moved against Superintendent Adiala Jail as he was under control of provincial government.
Further, an identical case was already pending with the court, the office said.
The court served notices to respondents and adjourned the case till August 12.
