'Imparting Education To Youth Imperative For Development, Progress'

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2019 ) :Divisional Commissioner Mehmood Javed Bhatti has said that a vigorous campaign will be launched for increasing literacy rate.
He was addressing a seminar at commissioner office held in connection with the International Literacy Day here on Thursday.
The commissioner said that Punjab government was following a number of policies to impart education to the new generation.
He said that civil society should come forward for the support of the parents having financial constraints and dropouts be adopted by the well off persons.
He highlighted the importance of education, and said that the goal of development and progress could not be achieved without imparting education to the future of the nation.
He emphasized upon the officers of Education department to focus on promotion of education by maintaining good governance in their respective offices.
DO literacy Navidul Haq said that 335 centers of non-formal education were working in the district.
The seminar was also addressed by ADCG Mian Aftab Ahmad, DO Special Education Ch. Abdul Hameed, Representative of NTU Nadia Shamim, Mian Nadeem Anwar, Akhtar Butt and others.
