Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th August, 2018) After Imran Khan officially took oath as the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan today, he changed his Twitter bio as well.

Imran Khan recently became the 7th most followed leader on Twitter when the number of followers on his twitter account surpassed the 8 million mark.

Now Imran Khan has updated his Twitter bio as ‘Prime Minister of Pakistan’.

The National Assembly on Friday elected Imran Khan as the country's 22nd prime minister. At least 176 members of the National Assembly voted in favour of the PTI chairman, while his opponent, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, secured 96 votes.

The oath-taking ceremony was held in President House, Islamabad. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the newly elected prime minister.

The PTI won the general election 2018, receiving 116 out of the 272 directly elected seats in the lower chamber. However, as the party did not reach a simple majority necessary to independently form the government, it engaged in negotiations on the formation of a ruling coalition. The party managed to form the coalition securing the support of at least 175 out of 342 lawmakers.
