The CJP heard the last case of his career today
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th January, 2019) In his last decision as the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar has ordered to transfer the charge of Sheikh Zayed Hospital to the Federal government.
A five-member larger bench headed by CJP Nisar held the hearing of the case on the structure of hospitals under 18th amendment on Thursday.
In view of the bench decision, the charge of Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore has been transferred to the federal government.
The court verdict said the required legal procedures were not adopted to take the charge of the hospital. The 18th amendment has been misinterpreted.
The verdict said that the federal government has the authority to build and run hospitals.
It further stated that three hospitals and museum in Karachi were also illegally handed over to province, ordering to transfer the charge of these hospitals to the centre.
“No law can stop the transfer of these hospitals to the centre,” it said.
During the hearing, the CJP remarked, “I always tried to give lawful and just judgment.”
He thanked everyone for their love, adding that he remained a part of the bench for 20 years but never hurt anyone.
Nonetheless, he apologised if he hurt somebody’s feelings.
The CJP then left the court after hearing the last case of his career.
