Independent Candidate Survives Assassination Bid In Lakki Marwat

An independent candidate survived assassination bid after his election convoy was allegedly fired upon by workers of the rival candidate in Tehsil Sarai Naurang on Saturday, Police said.

LAKKI MARWAT (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2018 ) :An independent candidate survived assassination bid after his election convoy was allegedly fired upon by workers of the rival candidate in Tehsil Sarai Naurang on Saturday, Police said.

Malik Riaz an independent candidate from PK-93 constituency was leading election convoy towards venue of the public meeting at Bargai when his convoy was ambushed.

Malik Riaz remained unhurt and safe.

FIR into the firing incident has been registered in Asmatullah Shaheed Police Station Sarai e Naurang against known accused including MMA candidate Malik Anwar Hayat.

After the firing incident Malik Riaz in a statement alleged that MMA candidate Malik Anwar Hayat and his supporters fired at his convoy as he wanted him to withdraw from the contest.

"The MMA candidate also demanded Rs 50000 extortion money from me," he claimed.
