
Indian Police Arrest Gilani, Mirwaiz In Srinagar

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th july,2016) : Indian police arrested Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq outside their residences in Srinagar, on Wednesday, to prevent them from leading a march towards Kulgam district. According to KMS, Ali Gilani was arrested and was taken to Humhama Police Station in Srinagar. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was arrested while he was leaving to Kulgam.
A heavy contingent of Police arrived at his Nageen residence and took him into custody. The Hurriyet leadership in a joint statement had announced a march towards south Kashmir's Kulgam, on wednesday, to express solidarity with the oppressed people of the district. A rally was also to be held in Kulgam after Zuhar prayers to pay glowing tributes pay tributes to the people who were martyred by Indian forces' personnel in the district during the ongoing Kashmir Intifada.
