Insignificant number of dengue cases reported: DCO

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd September, 2016) : District Coordination Officer (DCO) Talat Mehmood Gondal Friday said that in Rawalpindi the number of dengue patients are insignificant as compare to the previous year.

Chairing a meeting to review arrangements for preventing dengue larvae, he said that only 25 patients were admitted from Rawalpindi in the allied hospitals while a number of them have been discharged.

He directed the concerned to keep a close liaison with each other and public representatives to completely wipe out the outbreak threat of dengue.

He stressed upon the need to initiate awareness programmes among the masses for adopting precautionary measures to protect themselves from the lethal mosquito.

He directed officials to ensure immediate fumigation and spray of Cattle at the entry and exit points of the city at sale points and at cattle markets for prevention of Congo virus ahead of Eid Ul Azha.

He directed officials to carry out spray of animals besides taking steps for treatment of animals suffering from any disease including congo virus to prevent its spread among the people.
