Interior Minister Uninformed of the Arrest Orders

Prime Minister Secretariat didn’t inform interior minister while imposing section 144 nor while arresting the activists. Sources have said that the federal police has been divided into two factions regarding the arrest of PTI activists’ meetings.

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Oct, 2016) : The arrest of PTI activists in the Federal capital came directly from Prime Minister Secretariat. Prime Minister Secretariat didn’t inform interior minister while imposing section 144 nor while arresting the activists.

Sources have said that the federal police have been divided into factions concerning the arrest of PTI activists’ meetings as well as to stop Islamabad from lock-down on 2nd November. One faction of the police is lead by IG Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin, who takes direct orders from Prime Minister Secretariat, while the other faction is lead by interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Khan along with staff officer SSP Sajid Kiyani.

Sources have confirmed that IG Islamabad, with police and FC officials, was leading the brutal arrest of PTI activists on Thursday. The notification regarding the implementation of Section 144 on Thursday morning was issued by Abdus Sattar Esani and interior minister was uninformed of the notification until media gave the coverage of the arrest.

The interior minister reproached the administrative officials as the action had an unfavorable affect on the government. Sources have said that Khawaja Saad Rafique was the mastermind behind the activist’s arrest.

Referring to the protest of 2014, he suggested that the situation at that time got out of hands because the government did not stop the activist from attending the protest. Hence, the order of crack-down has been issued against the meetings and gatherings of PTI activists.

Sources have confirmed that the interior ministry is investigating more onto this matter and strict actions will be taken against that official in the days to come.
