Int'l Conference Concludes At SALU

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2017 ) :The two-day International Conference on Literature & Ecological Challenges (Pakistani & International Perspective) concluded on Wednesday.
The conference was organized by the department of urdu, faculty of Arts & Languages, Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur in collaboration with Higher education Commission (HEC) At the concluding session, Custodian, of shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Syed Waqar Hussain Shah Latifi, was the chief guest while Vice Chancellor (VC), Dr Parveen Shah presided the session.
Dr. Anwar Ahmed and SSP Khairpur Ghulam Azfar Mahesar were the guests of honor. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Waqar Hussain Shah Latifi said the SALU was established after the name of world renowned poet and Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, adding that Shah Latif had always prefer the soil of Sindh, he had connection with soil and established his worship place at the Bhitt means place of sand.
The poetry of Shah Latif is directly concerned with nature, beauty and its fragrance, he said. The VC Professor Dr Parveen Shah said this International Conference was indeed a unique event.
This conference on one hand has addressed a very serious and burning issue of the world and on other hand it has refreshed our memories and reawakens our sense of duty towards our mother nature through the fragrance of great literary scholars.
She said that Shah Abdul Latif University feels proud to host this great number of scholars from across the nation and abroad. The VC said it is great platform for learning from each other's experience.
She also announced to plant 2000 sapling of trees as token of love with the cause of friendly environment at University Dr Anwar Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of arts and languages Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, Chairperson, department of Urdu, Dr Sofia Yousuf,Commissioners of Sukkur and Larkana Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, DC Khairpur Muhammad Nawaz Sohu and other sponsors for their financial and moral support for organizing this international moot in befitting manner.
Later, a musical session was also held. A large number of teachers, scholars and students attended the ceremony and musical session.
