Int'l Moot On Education Pledge To Integrate Research With Society

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2018 ) :The 3rd international conference on education held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has concluded with the pledge to make academic research as a tool to transform the society.
The conference that was attended by eminent educationists from home and abroad was arranged by the University's Faculty of Education, a news release said here on Sunday. It held eighteen working sessions during which more than 120 research papers were presented.
The conference's inaugural session was addressed earlier by Dr Atta-ur-Rehman, former Federal minister of Science and Technology and the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shahid Siddiqui. The key-note speakers at the conference included Dr.
Chaistopher James from USA, Dr. Peter C. Taylor from Australia and Dr. Alastair Creelman from Sweden. They called for developing connectivity and collaborative partnership beyond the boundaries in order to achieve excellence in educational sector.
They also underlined the need of the deliberating upon the educational challenges through shared vision. They also spoke about the transformation of learning in post-modern time. They praised the Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui and his team for making the conference productive one in highlighting the issues relating to research and practices in education.
According to Dean Education, Dr Nasir Mahmood, during the two-day event there was a fruitful interaction among local and foreign experts on developing understanding about the new trends in the educational sector.
The conference provided opportunity to scholars across the globe for disseminating their research work for addressing the social phenomenon, besides highlighting the innovative methods and modes of research around the world, he added.
