Iqbal Day Celebrated At University Of Sargodha

The University of Sargodha (UoS) arranged various activities to mark the birth anniversary of the national poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal here on Friday.

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Nov, 2018 ) :The University of Sargodha (UoS) arranged various activities to mark the birth anniversary of the national poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal here on Friday.

A ceremony was jointly organised by the Riaz Ahmad Shad Co-curricular Forum and the Institute of Art and Design,UoS, acknowledging and commemorating the contributions of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal for Muslims of the Sub-continent. The ceremony was attended by a number of students, staff and faculty members.

Various competitions, including quiz on Iqbal's life, urdu speeches and poetry contests, were also held to pay homage to the national poet and highlight different aspects of his life and teachings.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed said that Iqbal was the man who conceived the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims of the Sub-Continent.

Dr Fazalur Rehman, Director Pakistan Institute of China Studies, Hafiz Muhammad Alam, Director Riaz Ahmad Shad Co-curricular Forum and Ahmad Faraz, In-charge Institute of Art and Design also spoke.

At the end, the vice chancellor distributed prizes and certificates among the top position holders of the various competitions.
