Iqbal Day Celebrated In Karachi

An inspirational and vibrant culture show was held to highlight the ideology of Pakistan's national poet Allama Muhammed Iqbal on Friday.

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Nov, 2018 ) :An inspirational and vibrant culture show was held to highlight the ideology of Pakistan's national poet Allama Muhammed Iqbal on Friday.

The show marked the birth anniversary of the Allama Iqbal, commemorated on Friday nationwide.

Iqbal is regarded as the Shair-e-Mashriq (Poet of the East) and the Thinker of Pakistan, who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims.

Children of different ages from several schools and colleges participated in the Iqbal Day Celebrations programme arranged by All Private Schools Association Khairpur at Sachal Auditorium.

The kids presented speeches and tableau based on stories portraying Iqbal's messages for the modification of the society.

The lyrical and melodious poems from Iqbal's poetry were recited by the children included Kalam-e-Iqbal, Khudi ka Sir hai Nehan, Ya Rab Dil-e-Muslim ko, La phir Ik Bar, Lab pay aati hai Dua and Zamanay ke Andaz.

The verses reflected simple yet meaningful theme.

"Iqbal's philosophy and poetry is a beacon for humanity," said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Khairpur, Riaz Hussain Wassan at the award distribution.
