Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th April, 2019) Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul had recently given the credit of additional rainfall in Pakistan to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Speaking at an event, Zartaj Gul said that Pakistan received heavy rain and snowfall with the blessing of Allah. The country has never seen such prolonged winter before, she said.
“I know social media is giving me the credit of this weather but I would like to give its credit to Prime Minister Imran Khan,” the minister added.
Zartaj Gul’s video had gone viral on social media.
With the recent flash flood in Pakistan, people are asking Zartaj Gul if the credit for the extreme rains also goes to Imran Khan?
Jokes aside, we should really pray that the weather gets better as many farmers are at loss with these heavy rains.
According to media reports, heavy rains hit districts of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and areas of central and upper Punjab.
While there are reports of death and injuries in rain and thunderstorm related incidents in a different part of the country, the massive rains have also destroyed different crops spreading over hundreds of acres in Punjab and Balochistan.
Farmers say they faced losses of millions and loss could be increased if the rains continued in coming days.
