Islamabad High Court Again Serves Notices To ECP In Kulsoom Nawaz Eligibility Case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) again served notices to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in case challenging the eligibility of Kulsoom Nawaz and asked the respondents to submit reply before September 12.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2018 ) :The Islamabad High Court (IHC) again served notices to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in case challenging the eligibility of Kulsoom Nawaz and asked the respondents to submit reply before September 12.
Justice Aamer Farooq of IHC conducted hearing of the case filed by a citizen Bisma Noreen challenging the eligibility of Kulsoon Nawaz as member Parliament.
As the hearing began, Deputy Attorney General Khalid Mehmood appeared before the court and sought more time to submit reply on behalf of federation.
The court accepted the request and granted time to federation for submitting reply before September 12.
However, the petitioner Bisma Noreen contended before the bench that Kulsoom Nawaz did not meet the criteria under article 62 and 63 of Constitution.
Maryam Nawaz had spent millions of rupees on the election campaign of her mother in NA-120. The MNA had not taken oath so far due to illness even the tenure of assembly had been completed.
The court sought reply from ECP, federation and Council of Islamic Ideology till September 12, regarding the matter.
