Islamabad High Court (IHC)  barres private schools from collecting fees for summer vocations

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday barred private schools of the capital from receiving fees of summer vocations from the students.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2018 ) :The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday barred private schools of the capital from receiving fees of summer vocations from the students. The court directed the private educational institutions to adjust the fees of those students who have already paid it after end of summer vocations.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of IHC heard the case regarding the students' fees of summer vocations. Rashid Haneef Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA).

During the course of proceeding, Justice Siddiqui asked what PEIRA was doing to provide relief to the students. Haneef stated that a single member bench has stayed the powers of PEIRA and his client has filed an appeal against this judgment.

He said that the high courts of Sindh, Punjab and Peshawar have already stayed receiving of fees for summer vocations. The bench barred the schools from receiving fees from students during summer vocations and adjourned the case till June 20.
