Islamabad Police Get Punctuality Task At Weddings

Islamabad Police have been directed to take action in case of violation of the allowed one-dish meal and holding of the functions beyond the permitted time of 10pm at wedding marquees or halls in the Capital
According to the orders issued by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat, Islamabad police and officials of district administration have been directed to take necessary action in case of any violation of new wedding regulations announced for Capital.
It has been also directed that said premises may be sealed after the function and not to be opened without approval of the Deputy Commissioner.
Police and officials of district administration including all Assistant Commissioners have been asked to submit daily report to Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Islamabad who will be focal person in this regard.
The order regarding new wedding regulations comes in the light of section 3, 4, and 5 of the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful expenses) Ordinance 2000 and in line with the judgment of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The order issued by the district magistrate Islamabad said that no person will use explosive devices including firing, crackers or display fireworks.
Through the order, the authorities have further directed to the concerned to adhere to the prescribed timings i.e. 10:00pm, prohibition of ostentatious display and provisions relating to 'One Dish'. The stakeholders have been reminded that they must ensure compliance of the said law.
When contacted, police source said that Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar and Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) have directed all Zonal Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers to constitute special teams to check the observation of the said order in line with the judgment of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
These teams, he said, would ensure implementation on wedding rules and regulations and to check the marquees or halls in their jurisdictions from to time.
Police officials in plain clothes would conduct checking and to seal the premises in the case of anyviolation, he maintained.
