IT Projects Planned In AJK To Enhance Govt Depts Functioning

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2018 ) :Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government is working on number of Information Technology (IT) projects to enhance the functioning of public service departments.
The tangible measures have been taken by the state government to use latest technology in all public institutions.
Issuance of driving license has been computerized which not only enhanced the capacity of the Police Department, but also ensured transparency accountability in the procedure.
A project to establish IT labs in government run schools is also in progress which would equip students with quality IT education at their doorsteps, Radio Pakistan reported.
The AJK government has also started computerization of land record and initially land record of three union councils; Dheerkot, Hattian Bala and Dudhyal has been computerized.
It would provide people online access to different land related record details like transfer, ownership etc at one click. The project is being extended to all remaining seven districts at a cost of 300 million rupees.
Moreover, web portals of all government institutions have been launched besides providing video conferencing facilities at all divisional headquarters for online meetings which would ensure saving of time and heavy expenditure on TA/DA of government officials.
E-Facilitation Centers are also being setup at three divisional headquarters which would provide one window facility for submission of Domiciles, Birth, Death, Marriage, utility and other bills and certificates.
A pilot project for e Establishment of two Tele Health Centers at a cost of 550 million rupees is also in process.
