Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Muhammad Ajmal Cheema Tuesday said that it would take time to improve country's economy
Talking to media during his visit to Social Welfare Complex here, he said that former rulers left the country in a deplorable condition, and the incumbent government was working hard to improve the condition.
The minister said that no country could make progress without investing in education, health and welfare projects. "Our focus is to provide the best educational facilities and proper healthcare to people," he added.
Cheema said that the previous government did not pay attention to Social Welfare Department.
They were handed over the government in a very bad condition and worked a lot to improve it, he added.
Earlier, the minister visited welfare centres, Aafiat, Gehwara, Chaman, Darul Falah and Darul Sakoon. He also met the residents and inspected the facilities being provided to them.
The minister reviewed cleanliness arrangements and gave directions in this regard.
Member Provincial Assembly and senior officers of the department were also present.
Later, the minister chaired a meeting in which a briefing about different matters of the department was given.
