
Jam Khan Directs Officers To Ensure Round-the-clock Monitoring Of River Embankments

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro and Secretary Irrigation Zarif Iqbal Khero visited the Indus River in the Bhanot area of Matiari district.
On this occasion, Chief Engineer of the Irrigation Department Mansoor Memon, MD SIDA Pritam Das, and other senior officials were also present.
After the visit, Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro stated that the Sindh government, in light of potential flood conditions, has intensified protective measures along the banks of the Indus River and assigned duties to all field officers.
He directed the officers to ensure round-the-clock monitoring and reinforcement of the river embankments and to remain fully prepared to handle any potential risks, ensuring the safe discharge of floodwaters in the public interest.
A day earlier, Secretary Irrigation Zarif Iqbal Khero and Member of the National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar inspected the Indus River at Hajipur in Tando Muhammad Khan, where Zarif Iqbal Khero instructed the concerned staff to further strengthen the embankments.
