Japanese embassy arranges Ikebana, embroidery exhibition

The Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Floral Art Society of Pakistan- Islamabad chapter, Tuesday organized an Ikebana flower arrangements and embroidery exhibition at the residence of ambassador of Japan.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Dec, 2018 ) :The Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Floral Art Society of Pakistan- Islamabad chapter, Tuesday organized an Ikebana flower arrangements and embroidery exhibition at the residence of ambassador of Japan.

Madam Rieko Kurai, wife of the ambassador of Japan, along with females of Pakistan Floral Art Society and Orita, a Japanese Ikebana teacher, made fascinating Ikebana arrangements while exhibiting their skills in famous Japanese art of flowers, a press release said.

Besides, making the Ikebana arrangements, Madam Kurai at the occasion, also showcased her impressive embroidery work which included handbags, cushions, table-runners etc.

Ikebana which literally means "flower kept alive", developed into a distinct art form in Japan in 15th century, and is now practiced all over the world, including Pakistan.
