ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 19th March, 2019) Deputy Chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has expressed satisfaction over the progress in the petition seeking the abolition of usury before the Federal Shariah Court during the day.
In a statement here, he appreciated the stance of the Attorney General of Pakistan conceding that the federal Shariah Court had the jurisdiction to hear the petition.
He impressed upon the State Bank of Pakistan not to challenge the FSC jurisdiction in this respect.Dr Farid Piracha said that the abolition of interest was a requirement of the injunctions of the holy Quran and the Sunnah as also the constitution of the country. Therefore, he said all state institutions should comply with these instead of creating hurdles in its way. NNI
