MIRPUR-AJK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Aug, 2024) The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF-Y) has strongly condemned the unjust treatment of its incarcerated leader, Yasin Malik who is being denied a fair trial in India.
In a statement released to media here on Friday late, Raja Muzaffar, the US-based Acting Chairman of JKLF (Yasin Malik), despite Yasin Malik's peaceful struggle for Kashmir's freedom, he has been awarded a life sentence and is now facing the death penalty.
"We demand that the Indian government release Yasin Malik and restart the dialogue process for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict," Muzaffar said in a statement.
Muzaffar stated that Yasin Malik is fighting for his nation's freedom.
He added that Malik's non-violent resistance is in line with Gandhi's principles, and he should be recognized as a political prisoner not a terrorist.
The JKLF-Y has urged the international community to take notice of Yasin Malik's unjust imprisonment and the violation of human rights.
Raja Muzaffar assured that the organization will continue to raise its voice for Malik's freedom and the rights of the Kashmiri people.
