ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Aug, 2018 ) :Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe the India's Independence Day on Wednesday as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that New Delhi has usurped their inalienable right to self-determination by the dint of force.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The leadership in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that an atmosphere of fear had been created in the occupied territory through frisking and harassment of people at the checkpoints established by the Indian forces in the run-up to August 15.
The leaders urged India to realize the ground reality and come forward to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the will of the Kashmiri people.
In the face of unrelenting Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and New Delhi's deep conspiracies against the demography of Jammu and Kashmir, as many as 24 special police officers have left their jobs in last couple of days.
They have also sought apology from Kashmiri people.
