Says people want a strong government in Punjab.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th August, 2018) MPA-elect Jugnu Mohsin has said that the decision to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not her own.
Talking to a local tv channel, she said, “I have won as an independent candidate. I asked the people of my constituency what they want and they always said that they want to remain independent.”
“When I asked them if I should vote for in Punjab, they said that they want to support whoever makes a government in Punjab. They want a strong government in Punjab. Then we’ll see how they form the government,” she added.
Jugnu Moshin said that Shehbaz Sharif had also offered her to join his party.
“I asked him if he will make a government in Punjab. To this, Shehbaz said that he has been trying. I told him if he makes a government in Punjab, I will vote for him too,” the MPA-elect said.
Jugnu Mohsin, who defeated former provincial minister Syed Raza Ali Gilani with a huge margin in PP-184, Okara, had decided to maintain her status as independent in the Punjab Assembly.
She made the decision after a meeting with PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore two days ago and later leaving for Islamabad where she met the leadership of other parties.
