Kashmir dispute left unsolved intentionally: Dr Mukhtar Ahmad

The world has left Kashmir dispute unsolved intentionally, both the countries India and Pakistan should use diplomatic channels to end the miseries of the Kashmiris, said Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2018 ) :The world has left Kashmir dispute unsolved intentionally, both the countries India and Pakistan should use diplomatic channels to end the miseries of the Kashmiris, said Chairman Higher education Commission (HEC) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on Tuesday.

Addressing at the inaugural session of a 3-Day International Conference on'"The Kashmir Dispute: Past, Present and the Future" the Chairman HEC said that Pakistan at every forum supported the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.

The conference was jointly organized by the departments of International Relations department, Pakistan Studies and Governance & Public Policy of National University of Modern Languages (NUML), a press release said.

Rector NUML Major General (retd) Zia Ud Din Najam, Director General NUML Brig Muhammad Ibrahim, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, guest speakers and scholars from Indian occupied Kashmir, United States and United Kingdom were also present on the occasion.

Dr Mukhtar said that we salute the people who are fighting for their identity and independence in Indian occupied Kashmir. He stressed the world leaders to stand up and support the right of self-determination of Kashmiri People.

Syed Ali Gilani, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), in his video message thanked the NUML for highlighting the Kashmir cause by organizing such a conference on a very important issue.

He said that he is certain the Kashmir will be a free state soon. He, in his 25 minutes long video message educated the participants about the history of Kashmir and present day situation.

At the end of the inaugural session rector NUML Major General (retd) Zia Ud Din Najam thanked all the worthy guests for sparing time for this conference and shared his personal memories of the Line of Control.
