Kashmiris to observe Black Day on 5th August

MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Aug, 2024) The Jammu and Kashmir State population, inhibiting either side of the Line of Control and the rest of the world, will observe Monday, August 5, as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and as Black Day. Correspondent of Associated Press of Pakistan from Mirpur reported.

The Kashmiris will observe the black day on the call given by all Kashmiri freedom organizations to mourn the August 5, 2019 Indian sinister and forced action at gunpoint, abrogating the special status of the internationally acknowledged disputed Jammu and Kashmir State currently under Indian illegal occupation.

On August 5, 2019, the Modi-led Hindutva government revoked Articles 370 and 35-A that granted special status to the internationally recognized disputed territory and unlawfully imposed a brutal military and police siege.

The day will be marked with day-long anti-India street protests and demonstrations in AJK, besides a complete shutter-down strike and anti-India gatherings on the call of the  All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other organizations at both sides of the LoC, including in occupied Srinagar and suburbs, as Kashmiris have categorically rejected the illegal and unilateral Indian actions of August 5, 2019.
