KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : In line with its ongoing mission of attaining energy conservation and efficiency goals, K-Electric has launched a plan to implement ISO 50001 Energy Management System within the organization.
The KE spokesman said on Monday that the ISO 50001 standard provides a comprehensive framework to implement an Energy Management System to achieve optimal energy performance under a continuous improvement plan.
This will allow the utility to further integrate energy management, efficiency and conservation into its overall operations and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other related environmental impact.
While developing and implementing a system in line with the ISO 50001 standard, the company strives to implement best electric utility practices in sustainable energy technology, build alliances and inspire new energy ideas and energy efficiency actions.
This certification would reiterate KE's commitment to globally recognize Sustainable Development Goals and its commitment to address climate change. Adhering to this standard would help KE be ranked amongst the top utilities in the world.
