KMU-ETEA For Admission In Medical & Dental Colleges Of KP Postponed

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2018 ) :Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) Entrance Test 2018 organized by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar for admissions in Public and Private Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was scheduled to be held simultaneously at Islamia Collegiate school Ground Peshawar, Haripur University, Haripur, Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat, Gomal Medical College new building opposite Dera Town ship D.I Khan, Abdul Wali Khan University Garden Campus Near Sheikh Maltoon Township Mardan, Cadet College Kohat and Malakand University Chakdara Lower Dir has been postponed due to heavy stormy rain at some centers particularly at Mardan.

It is worth mentioning that a total of 38057 candidates including 23459 male and 14598 female students were supposed to appear in the said entrance test at the above mentioned seven centers but due to heavy rain and storm at Mardan centre all the arrangements including tents, qanats and chair etc have been badly disturbed and even fallen to the ground.

Therefore, in larger interest of all candidates especially that of Mardan centre the coordination committee comprising of vice chancellors of KMU, UET and Executive Director ETEA and headed by Special Secretary Higher education Department Govt of KP has decided that the test should be postponed till further decision of the provincial government.

In a clarification statement issued by KMU authorities, it was announced that the test was postponed due to natural calamity and there was nothing wrong on the part of KMU, ETEA or civil administration.

As it was a matter of fact that due to strict rules and ensuring transparency and maintaining same standards to asses all the applicants on the same yard stick ,it was compulsory to take the ETEA test at the same time from all the candidates.

For this reason interruption due to any reason in a single or more centers will definitely result in postponement of the entire test at all centers, so as mentioned earlier the unwanted bad weather situation at Mardan centre was the basic cause behind postponement of the medical & dental entrance test 2018.

New date will be announced soon after approval of the competent authority which will be communicated to all concerns at their mobile phones via sms, through print and electronic media as well as it will be also shared at KMU and ETEA official websites in due course of time.
