HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jul, 2024) The Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority's Chairman Qabool Muhammad Khatian has expressed hope that the problem of water shortage upstream of Kotri Barrage is expected to resolve soon.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he apprised that 63,800 cusecs water was released from the Sukkur barrage downstream earlier in the day.

According to him, the above-stated discharge of water was expected to reach Kotri barrage by July 14 after which the release of water in the barrage's 4 canals would also be enhanced.

He informed that sufficient water would be available in the barrage during the next 2 months which would help the authorities deal with the problems of shortage and rotation for irrigation purposes.
