Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority cracks down on counterfeit drinks in Paharipur area of Peshawar and more than 5,000 liters of counterfeit drinks were recovered from the factory during the operation, Director Operations Dr. Azmatullah Wazir said here on Thursday
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2021 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority cracks down on counterfeit drinks in Paharipur area of Peshawar and more than 5,000 liters of counterfeit drinks were recovered from the factory during the operation, Director Operations Dr. Azmatullah Wazir said here on Thursday.
Talking to media, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir said that counterfeit beverage factories were being run indoors in residential areas. He said that large quantities of stimulant packaging, flavors and unhealthy chemicals recovered from the factory during the operation.
Action was taken against a fake beverage factory on a tip-off, Director Operations said, adding, a case to be registered against those involved in manufacture of counterfeit drinks, DG Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan said.
He said, no concessions will be made to those who harm public health.
DG Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan said the officials of the KP Food Safety Authority have intensified operation against such elements who are involved in selling unhygienic food or making things with fake labels, specially soft drinks in the factories mostly set up in residential areas across the province.
