KP Government To Resolve Transgender Problems: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker

Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Wednesday said that the provincial government is taking sincere efforts for the resolution of the problems of transgender.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Oct, 2018 ) :Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Wednesday said that the provincial government is taking sincere efforts for the resolution of the problems of transgender.

He also directed the Secretary Social Welfare for arranging different training programmes for the transgender and establishing of graveyard for them.

He issued these directives during a high level meeting with Transgender Association, Blue Veins (NGO) and higher authorities of the Social Welfare Department.

The Speaker KP Assembly said that transgender are honourable Pakistanis and they will take all possible steps for the protection of their genuine rights. He said that Social Welfare Department and Blue Veins should initiate a joint awareness campaign for giving better status to transgender in the society.

He also directed the Secretary Social Welfare for arranging different training programmes for transgender to enable them for selecting honourable employment for them.

The meeting also reviewed matters relating to the issuance of National Identity Cards (NICs) to transgender, sehat card, admission in educational, vocational institutions, provision of bank credit for businesses, Hajj, Umra and other matters in detailed.

He said that transgender will be provided maximum facilities through government and NGOs to get them rid of begging and so-called functions to live life in honourable manner.

He also directed the convening of a meeting of all concerned departments regarding different kind of problems faced by the transgender to search out a comprehensive solution to them.

Earlier, the president, Transgender Association, Farzana while highlighting their problems, she said that they have face different problems in the society. She said that in case of death beside funeral prayers, they also face hardships in finding burial placein graveyard.

The Speaker assured them that solution to all genuine problems of the transgender will be searched out.
