KP Govt Awards Rs 110 Mln To 1,920 Teachers With Outstanding Performance

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Oct, 2016 ) : The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday awarded Rs 110 million to as many as 1,920 teachers of 240 schools of the province on teachers' day in recognition of their outstanding performance.
In a ceremony held here, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Atif Khan awarded Rs 100,000 to each headmaster and principal and Rs 50,000 to each school teacher.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Elementary Education said that last year the government distributed Rs 50 million among the teachers while this year the amount has been multiplied to encourage other teachers as well.
He said that the provincial government has introduced stick and carrot policy in almost all sectors in KP to bring real change and improvement, adding the government has appointed as many as 40,000 school teachers on purely merit basis.
He said the role of teacher is very important in any society and keeping in view the importance the KP government is providing best facilities to teachers and awarding cash prizes to those with good output.
Atif said that necessary trainings are also being imparted to the teachers for quality education at government schools. A biometrics system has also been introduced at schools to ensure presence of teachers. Later, PTI Chairman Imran Khan and KP CM Pervez Khattak expressed gratitude to teachers for their contribution in education sector.
