KP Govt Notifies Procedure For Partridges Shooting Season 2018-19

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Wednesday notified procedure for partridges shooting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Season 2018-19.
According to the procedure announced by Chief Conservator Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar, shooting of partridges including see-see partridge, black partridge, grey partridge and chakur partridge will be permissible in the province with effect from Sunday November 25, 2018 till Sunday February 3, 2019.
However, hunting shall not allowed in protected areas except game reserves, private game reserves and community game reserves and hunting shall be permissible only on Sundays and gazette holidays. However, hunting in Game Reserves shall be permissible only under a special permit to be granted by the Chief Conservator Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as per rules.
The partridge population in the Game Reserves will be regularly monitored and issuance of special permit will be stopped as soon as it is deemed appropriate, Maximum bag limit shall not exceed five birds of all species of partridges combined per gun per day, value of properly equal to Rs 1200 will be charged for each bird shot in excess to bag limit besides compensation as per rules.
Maximum two hunting party (not more than 5 guns in a party) shall be allowed in a game reserve/unit on a single hunting day, Hunting in Community Game Reserves will be permissible only after due consent of the concerned Village conservation committee (VCC).
Meanwhile, hunting in Private Game Reserves will be permissible only after due consent of the concerned owner of the Private Game Reserves, Special Permit fee once deposited will not be refundable, no special permit will be issued to any person unless he holds a valid shooting license. Similarly, no person will be issued special permit for hunting in more than one Game reserve or unit of reserve on a single day.
The Wildlife Department has also announced schedule of fees that will be charged for various license/special permits during 2018-19 shooting season until revised otherwise.
The Small Games Shooting License will be charged at the rate of Rs 2000 per annum, special permit for shooting in a Game Reserve Rs 3000 per day, Possession License for dog Rs 1000 per annum and 90 per cent of the fee realized from special permits for shooting in Game Reserves with be paid to the local communities.
The respective community will utilize the revenue so generated on conservation and developmentworks. The remaining 10 per cent fee will go to revenue head of the department.
