KP Govt Releases Rs 878m For Gas Provision To Kohat Division

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2019 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released an amount of Rs 878 million for provision of gas in Kohat Division that would be formally inaugurated soon.
This was stated by Advisor to Chief Minister on Energy Himayatullah Khan during a meeting with MNA Shahid Khattak and MPA Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel.
The advisor said the total cost of the project, to be implemented in collaboration with Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), is Rs 9 billion, out of which the provincial government has around Rs 878 million.
He said the provision of legal gas to Kohat division would not only benefit the region but also proved beneficial for both the provincial and Federal governments.
The implementation, he said, would also help abolish gas theft.
Speaking on the occasion, the JUI-F MPA Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel said that beside the lack of natural gas, the areas also facing problems relating to drinking water and repair and reconstruction of roads, whose resolution required released of funds in head of royalty.
The advisor assured that maximum problems of the area would be resolved under Area Development Programme till September this year.
