KP PA Deputy Speaker Directs Suspension Of XEN

Deputy Speaker, KP Assembly Mahmood Jan Friday directed for the suspension and initiation of disciplinary action against Executive Engineer (XEN), Tube-Wells Division, Irrigation Department Sher Zaman Khan and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Imtiaz Khan for misleading through showing 23 broken down and out-dated tube-wells of the provincial assembly constituency PK-66, Peshawar
Presiding over a meeting regarding development schemes in PK-66, Mahmood Jan expressed strong resentment over the issue and while slamming both officers, he opposed their sitting on the same position.
He also directed those responsible to appeal in personal before the privilege committee for breaching of his privilege.
The meeting highlighted schemes included in the annual development programme (ADP) in the constituency and reviewed them in detail. He expressed dissatisfaction over the report presented by the department regarding the restoration and repair of irrigation tube-wells in the constituency. He directed the Secretary Irrigation for immediate suspension of both officers.
During the meeting, the authorities of irrigation department assured the release of funds for the ongoing projects of the construction of flood protection walls on rivers, nullah and stream before June this year and provision of a fund of Rs.
2 million and Rs.1 million respectively for the ongoing scheme of the construction of bridge on Shahi Bala Khawr at Khan Ghari.
During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker also expressed concern over not implementation of ADP funded project of flood protection at Union Council Jogni and Kafoor Dheri Scarp project in light of meeting held on December 31, 2018 and directed the Secretary Irrigation for provision of alternative for EXN KRC, who is working on the post since long.
During the meeting, Chief Engineer, Irrigation directed the authorities for presenting complete survey report in connections with the construction of a protection wall at Dandh Lakhti.
Mahmood Jan also slammed the concerned EXN for failure in the implementation of notices issued to marble factories on Pir Bala Safaid Sang Road and while expressing dissatisfaction over the performance of EXN, directed immediate action on those notices and holding meetings with Deputy Commissioner (DC), Peshawar and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to take practical steps.
