KP Turns Green & White On Eve Of Pakistan’s Independence Day

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2024) On the eve of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, Khyber Pakthunkhwa province was turned green and white with the national flag hoisting on top of the Govt. and private buildings, looking festive.
From Chitral to DI Khan and Waziristan to Kohistan, the people of all the districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa are celebrating the Independence Day with great national enthusiasm.
The vehicles were decorated with white and green colours by people, expressing their deep love for their beloved country that came into being on the world map on August 14, 1947.
Like other cities, Peshawar was also decorated artistically on occasion of Independence Day where national flags are hoisting everywhere.
People of all walks of life especially youth and children are taking keen interest in the independence day’s related accessories including badges, buntings and models of Minar e Pakistan, Islamia College Peshawar and Zairat Residency.
Father of the Nation, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had visited Islamia College Peshawar three times including as Governor General of Pakistan in 1948 where he addressed students. He told them that Pakistan had been created after a lot of sacrifices and now it is our collective duty to work tirelessly for its progress and prosperity.
Khyber Pakthunkhwa’s Governor, Faisal Karim Kundi has said that Pakistan’s can achieve all heights of great success by strictly adhering to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of unity, faith and discipline.
Felicitating the nation on the country’s Independence Day, he stressed upon the nation to remember the unmatched sacrifices of the forefathers during the Pakistan Movement that led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
Talking to APP, the Governor said Pakistan was created after the heroic political and democratic struggle of the Muslims under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
“We should not forget the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives to achieve a homeland,” he said.
Kundi said alive nations always celebrate their independence day with a renewed commitment and dedication to serve the country with utmost loyalty and national enthusiasm.
At Peshawar, the flag hoisting ceremonies would be held at Governor House Peshawar and Malik Saad Shaheed police lines besides other offices and organizations. National anthems and songs would be played.
The KP Governor House would be opened for the general public on 14th August. Educational institutions organized a declamation contest on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Historical buildings including Balahisar Fort, Governor House, CM House, IGP Office, Islamia College Peshawar, Peshawar Museum, Deans Trade Centre, Peshawar High Court were beautifully illuminated looking festive at night.
