ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday condemned the provincial government for allegedly preventing elected members from taking their constitutional oath.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that such undemocratic behavior of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was “shameful” and a “mockery of democratic norms.
”
He said that taking the oath was a constitutional right of every elected representative. Creating hurdles in this process is regrettable and a violation of democratic values, he added.
He thanked the Peshawar High Court for entrusting him with the authority to administer the oath, adding that democracy must be upheld at all costs.
He further said that the PTI-led provincial government was deliberately obstructing constitutional duties. These acts had exposed their disregard for democratic principles.
