Lack Of Facilities Hurdle In Producing World Champion: Dr Inam

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : Lack of state of the art facilities is the only hurdle in producing World Champion, said President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rifle Association, Dr.
Inam Ullah Khan Gandapur while addressing a Sport Forum Program of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sports Writers Association here Thursday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clinched bronze medal in Air Pistol event and now they have recorded good points against top teams in the ongoing 5th National Youth Air Weapon Shooting Championship being played at Pakistan Navy Shooting Range, Karachi, he said. Dr.
Inam Ullah Khan Gandapur disclosed that performance of both boys and girls shooters were excellent while playing side-by-side against top shooters. Flanked by International shooter Saad Ullah Khan, Director I&S Enterprises and Syed Shah Abbas of Shahjee Motors Peshawar, who contributed Rs.
2 million for buying ammunition, equipment, and sending 17 members boys and girls team to Karachi, Dr. Inam disclosed that KP team comprising Anwar, Ammar Shah and Hamza Khalid grabbed bronze medal in Air Pistol Team Championship.
Dr. Inam, who won gold and silver medals in South Asian Games, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, disclosed that despite very costly equipment and ammunitions, KP Rifle Association is very keen to provide a chance for the upcoming shooters to come and exhibit their class at national and international levels.
"I present my services free of cost to the KP govt for producing world champion for the country," he said, adding, "We need a land of 46 to 50 kanals for the construction of international standard range where I would train upcoming youth." He said there are lot of talented shooters and even FATA is full of talented shooters but due to no patronage to the game, all such talent go wasting.
He disclosed that out shooters represented the country in Sydney, Athens, Beijing Olympics, but due to limited resources they were failed to produce require resources. He said there was a need to run this sport on professional level.
"If we want to produce role models we have to adopt a professional approach. I am trying my best to train our youth so that they can become high-achievers," added Inam, who also runs a shooting club in Peshawar. He urged the KP government and Chairman PTI Imran Khan to extend support to the KP Shooting Association.
