LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2018 ) :A Lahore High Court division bench Wednesday set aside appellate tribunal verdict of rejecting nomination papers of Saeed Akbar Nawani and Rasheed Akbar Nawani for NA-98 and PP-90 (Bhakkar), respectively, and allowed them to contest election.
The bench headed by Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza passed the orders while allowing petitions filed by Nawani brothers against appellate tribunal verdict.
Earlier, Nawani brothers' counsel argued that an appellate tribunal rejected nomination papers of his clients while allowing appeals filed by rival candidates.
The counsel questioning tribunal verdict submitted that it was against facts. He submitted that Nawani brothers were declared ineligible to contest 2013-elections for allegedly being fake degree holders but the high court had acquitted them in the case.
He pleaded with the bench to set aside the verdict and allow Nawani brothers to contest elections from their respective Constituencies.
The bench after hearing detailed arguments of the parties set aside the tribunal verdict and allowed Nawani brothers to contest election.
